Elder Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation & Domestic Violence

Stop Abuse in the Community

Services: APS -Adult Protective Services are provided for seniors and people with disabilities, who are at least 18 years old and are victims of actual or potential abuse, neglect, or exploitation. The mistreatment may be caused by others or self. Services are provided to the adult to meet basic needs and to ensure safety.

To report abuse, neglect, or exploitation of an adult in the community, contact APS at the DSS office in the county where the adult lives.

Safe Harbor II, Inc.

Services: provides temporary, emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence and their children.  Lodging, food, personal items, clothing, and other necessities are provided.  Residents receive counseling, case management, support group therapy and living skills.
Exception/ Criteria: Length is 6 weeks; homeless due to domestic violence

Anderson Interfaith Ministries (AIM)

Services:  AIM is an organization of people and churches of various faiths providing assistance to the needy while encouraging and guiding them to function independently within their own resources.  

Emergency Assistance Program: Utilities, rent, deposit for housing, and work related assistance. 
Home Repair Program: Coordinates church and civic groups to make minor home repairs or modification.
Food Bank: Monday-Friday 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Women and Children Succeeding: Provides daycare, support services, life skills and training at a technical school, Anderson University or Clemson University to families that have an opportunity to return to school to further their education or training.

Services: provides temporary shelter (up to 1 month) with support services in scattered site houses to homeless married couples or single parent families with children less than 18 years of age.
Exception/Criteria: families must be married or single parents. Vouchers only viable in City of Anderson limits
