Information Services Spotlight

Have you noticed that the web-based services offered from ACOG are much faster lately?  The IT team at ACOG recently worked with AT&T to upgrade our Internet to a fiber optic connection, improving Internet speed and response from slower than 68 percent of the nation to faster than 72 percent of the nation!

This means that web visitors can now download our publications in the blink of an eye, navigate FactFinder Online more quickly to find information, and zoom through the InfoMentum Online application to explore Upstate maps and economic development information. Sites and applications hosted by ACOG benefit from the increased speed as well, such as the Cherokee Parcel Map Viewer, the SC Upstate Aging and Disability Resource Center, and the Upstate Alliance Property Navigator.

About Information Services

The Information Services Department provides economic development support to the region through InfoMentum Online, a customized GIS application which serves as a core research resource for the region's economic developers. Among the reports published annually by the department are County Profiles for each county in the ACOG region, as well as a Greenville County Apartment Community Survey. Customized research and mapping services are also offered to meet a variety of client needs. Affordable ESRI training is also offered, along with GIS application support. Within the ACOG, IS staff provides network and PC support, as well as design and maintenance of ACOG web sites.
